History

The Centre for International Education is a unit in the University of Ilorin, licensed by the University Senate with the responsibility of initiating, encouraging, promoting, facilitating and coordinating international programmes and linkages, faculty and student exchanges and mobility, collaborative research projects across academic disciplines and global network. The Centre’s vision is “Connecting with the World through Education”.

The University of Ilorin is committed to being a world-class University, offering its students an education of highest quality. It is recognized internationally for its academic excellence and extensive research activities. It is within this perspective that the University Senate established the Centre for International Education and Links in April 2009 with a view to enhance building relationship with other world-class universities, ranging from Africa to Europe to Asia and America.

The University of Ilorin continues to strengthen ties with fellow institutions in Nigeria and other parts of the African Continents. The University recognizes that an education with an international stamp is necessary to equip students with the knowledge and skills for their survival and growth in a competitive labour market.

Any aspiring scholar who has the opportunity to go through the University of Ilorin becomes part of an urban campus in Nigeria which is the hub and economic powerhouse of Africa.
