REPORT ON SELECTION OF CANDIDATES FOR ERASMUS MOBILITY TO SAKARAYA UNIVERSITY HELD ON 20TH NOVEMBER, 2025 AT THE CENTRE FOR INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION

1.0   Preamble

Under the Erasmus Mobility for PhD. Students for Spring 2026 as stipulated by the Sakaraya University, Turkey and University of Ilorin, Nigeria, the Centre for International Education, Unilorin announced the call for an interview for Student Mobility to spend the Spring 2026 semester at Sakaraya University, Turkey.

The call was broadcast amongst post-graduate students (PhD.) in the Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Sociology. Two (2) PhD. students were interviewed and they comprises of 2 main sections: the general questions on knowledge about the programme and the etiquette-based questions. Etiquette testing is germane in exchange, giving an insight into their habit and previous behaviour. The interview was conducted on Thursday, 20^th November, 2025.

2.0 The Panel

3.0   Objectives:

To assess and select qualified students for Sakaraya University ERASMUS Mobility.

4.0   The Interview

Section A:  Knowledge about the programme

• Introduction
• Their understanding about ERASMUS
• Identifying the University hosting the programme?
• Assuming any is suitable to be selected, how can he/she convince the panel that he will not abscond during or after the study
• If there is a need for self-funding for visa processing, health insurance and flight (this will be refunded in Turkey), do you have possibility of raising the fund?
• How do you think if you are admitted the programme will benefit your research?
• What kind of platform do you intend to share your knowledge?

Section B: Etiquette-based questions

• To prepare invisible tea and drink
• If making a phone call and there was no response, how often will you call the person back?
• You are invited to a buffet, how will you fill your plate or serve yourself?

5.0   Grading:

The candidates were graded based on the following criteria:

• Qualification and Certificates (20 marks)
• Comportment (10 marks)
• Expression / Response to questions (30 marks)
• Knowledge of etiquette (10 marks)
• Proposal grading (30 marks)
