IMPORTANT NOTICE

Application into the University of Ilorin through the Centre for International Education (CIE) is designed for the foreign prospective applicants.  Any Nigerian applicant from diaspora under the umbrella of the CIE would NOT be eligible to the National Service under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 

  1. WHO IS QUALIFIED TO BE AN INTERNATIONAL APPLICANT?
  • Any applicant from any part of the world outside Nigeria.
  • Any Applicant whose either of the parents is a Nigerian but is resident outside Nigeria and  has foreign certificates

Relevant Document(s) Required:

  • International Travelling Passport/ECOWAS Travelling Certificate
  • National Identity Card (Compulsory)
  • Medical Health Certificate
  • Ordinary Level (‘O’ Level) Certificate BEPC.
  • Advanced Level (‘A’ Level)  –  BACCALAUREAT (BAC) for Direct (with translated copy)
  • Proficiency Certificate in English Language for non-English speakers
  • Birth Certificate
  • Online application payment slip
  • ENTRY QUALIFICATION

The minimum required entry qualification for International applicants

  • A candidate is required to have at least five (5) Ordinary ‘O’ Level credit passes in not more than two (2) sittings, which must include Mathematics and English Language and any other three (3) relevant combination for programme of choice from any of the following: BEPC, Baccalaureate, SSCE/WASCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB or approved equivalent.
  • Direct Entry (DE) applicant is required to have passed relevant Ordinary Level and Advanced Level subjects with required points for the programme of choice.
  • Proficiency Certificate in English Language for only non-English speaking applicant.
  • Holders of B.Sc with Second Class Upper division in relevant fields for admission into Medicine.
  • Holders of B.A with Second Class Lower division in relevant fields for admission into Law and other courses

NOTE: For Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), Nursing Science, Physiotherapy and some other science related programmes, the five (5) credits (including Mathematics and English) must be obtained at only one sitting.

Immigration:

If you are arriving as a prospective student of the University, you need to arrive with a valid travelling documents and a visa or entry permit (for aliens and commonwealth citizen), endorsed with STR VISA/ENTRY PERMIT (i.e Subject to Regulation) to enable you upgrade your immigration status on being granted entry.

For ECOWAS citizens, you must be in possession of a valid travelling documents and offer of admission letter from the University of Ilorin. You will be given a visitor’s pass at the point of entry for a period not exceeding three months (90 days) within which period you will report to the immigration authority to upgrade your immigration status either as a student of the university.

The Immigration Office will give you the guidelines during the process of your application for entry permit.

Admission Procedure

The Centre for International Education (CIE) announces for the information of the general public that the admission of prospective applicants into various degree programmes for the ………………. academic session is open.

Applicants are to scan in one PDF or Word document all the relevant documents required and attach to the online application form

Please note:

  • A Nigerian who wishes to transfer his/her studentship from a foreign University will pay –

N15,000:00 application form

N1,000,000:00 acceptance fee

  • A foreign who wishes to transfer his/her studentship from a foreign University will pay

$50application form

$1,000 acceptance fee

No application will be processed without proof of payment of the fee.

ACCOMMODATION

University accommodation is available for students and ranges between N40,000 and N85,000 per bed space.  Also there are private hostels, price is based on choice.
